Happy Book Snail Mail

I came home today and checked the mail as I usually do.  Today wasn't an ordinary day though because I found a box that contained one of the greatest things ever ..... A book! Not just any book, but a brand spanking new up opened except to be signed of course by one of my most favorite ladies ever!

 Yes!

That's right! You guessed it! The NEW Save The Date by Mary Kay Andrews!!!!!

She was in Raleigh at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh this week!!  Unfortunately my daughter was going to be playing in a softball  tournament that kept me from going. (RATS! ) So I contacted her and as always was delighted to hook me up with a signed copy! I already had a digital copy, but my Mom still likes to read a good ol' fashion book and I love a signed copy for my bookshelf! :)

So thank you Mary Kay Andrews a.k.a Kathy Hogan Trocheck for being as awesome as always! I look forward to the next time our paths cross and to reading Save The Date!!

A savannah florist is about to score the wedding of a lifetime—one that will solidify her career as the go-to-girl for society nuptials. Ironically, Cara Kryzik doesn't believe in love, even though she creates beautiful flower arrangements to celebrate them. But when the bride goes missing and the wedding is in jeopardy, Cara must find the bride and figure out what she believes in.  Maybe love really does exist outside of fairy tales after all.

Summer Reading

I will be adding the Sumer Reading
to the Sumer Reading Page this week!!!

Watch for it!!!!!!!

What are you flipping
through this summer???

The Fault In Our Stars

One of my high school students has bugged me all year to read The Fault In Our Stars. I kept putting it off and reading something  else , ect. Then another student started reading and RAVED about it. Ok, I said Ill get to it. Then my daughters teacher read it and said it was amazing and a "must read."

FINE ..... I'll READ IT !!!!!!! Ummm fact of the matter I wanted to read it before the movie came out ,but when I finally picked up 2 weeks before school got out I COULD NOT put it down!!!!

You felt totally connected to each and every character in the story and even though the story line at some points  has a bleak outlook , you want more. It's a different ending and leaves you with a great feeling of appreciation for those around you in your life and that things could always be worse.

Definitely a 5 Star read!!!

I can only say that I hope the movie does the book justice!!!

In The Fault in Our Stars, John Green has created a soulful novel that tackles big subjects--life, death, love--with the perfect blend of levity and heart-swelling emotion. Hazel is sixteen, with terminal cancer, when she meets Augustus at her kids-with-cancer support group. The two are kindred spirits, sharing an irreverent sense of humor and immense charm, and watching them fall in love even as they face universal questions of the human condition--How will I be remembered? Does my life, and will my death, have meaning?--has a raw honesty that is deeply moving.

AMAZING FIND ..... Local Author :)

So this past weekend we had a softball tournament for school.  While us Moms sat around chatting, the Dads all talking shop and the girls warming up to play ..... I was asked if I had ever heard  of Nancy Naigle. Um no! Who is she? Turns out she is a local gal that lives right here in
Southampton County!!!!!

Of course nerdy book me pulls out her phone ( thank goodness for technology!)
To my delight I announce to the group that the Blackwater Library has her books! YIPPEE!!!!!!
Of course I can' t wait  for the Library open on Tuesday  so I hit IBooks  ... Rats nothing so then I head to  Amazon and see that I can get a sample on my Kindle App. YEAH!!!!!
Sample  downloaded .  :)

Well, by he time I got home that night the whole book was downloaded and I was under way to falling in love with this series of Adams Grove Mystery Series by Nancy Naigle. Not only was I in love with the thought of a local author and her tales in our local setting ,but I had fallin' in love with each of the characters in the book!!!!!!

(Needless  to say  the pages flew by and I had read the whole book in record time!!!!)

Take a minute to fall in love all over again in Adams Grove,VA!!!

When beloved town matriarch Pearl Clemmons dies on a warm June afternoon, the folks of Adams Grove, Virginia, can hardly believe it. Sure, Pearl was eighty-five years old, but everyone—particularly her granddaughter Jill—just assumed she would live forever. Now Jill must return home to settle Pearl’s estate, comfort a town in mourning…and face Garrett Malloy, the man who broke her heart years ago.
Making matters worse, a string of break-ins at the Clemmons place has Jill and the rest of the town on edge. She can’t imagine what Pearl possibly could have had that is worth stealing. But when Jill’s safety is threatened, she and Garrett must join forces to unearth Pearl’s secrets before someone else—someone dangerous—gets there first. Garrett may have been the last man Jill wanted to see, but now, she may not want to let him go.

Who Are You? Are you Sure?

Last summer I read DEFRIENDED by Ruth Baron. Loved it! Spooky, suspense and so possible in the society we live in full of social media!

Well, during Christmas Break I read IDENTITY THEFT by Anna Davies, which is actually book 2 in the Point Horror Series. Another spooky social media story that could hit home with anyone of us.

As always, the cover caught my eye ... YES!!! I love a good cover!!! The book arrived at our book fair and of course I had to buy a copy for the Library.  It sat on the counter at home for a few days screaming for me to pick it up and READ ME!!!! PLEASE!!!  Well, once I picked it up I just couldn't put it down!!!!

It's a total YA book. All about High School and applying for colleges, getting scholarships and then BAM!!! Facebook gets right in the way of Hayley's life and just about costs her EVERYTHING she has ever worked for.

Flip through the pages and see if you can figure out who the thief is.

I definitely rate this one a 5!

A great spooky and quick read!!! :)

Cinderella & Colleen

{I must fore warn you that there is mature content and language in this novella!!!}

I downloaded this back during break and just never got it. This past weekend I opened up my FREE download of this and could not stop flipping pages!! My family I think was like are you ever coming up for air? .... the answer ... No, not till I FIND CINDERELLA.

Well, Saturday and Sunday flew by, but before I went to bed I found Cinderella and she was reunited with her Prince! What an amazing story! I love the twists, the turns, the tears .... it was all worth it.

Take a minute to download this amazing Novella and meet Daniel and Six - they will steal your heart away!!

Colleen Hoover has done it YET AGAIN!!! She is taking YA by the horns and shouting "Here I Am!!! Come and read MY creations!" She continues to amaze me with her work!!

I give this a rating of :

She has nailed reality and blended it perfectly with fantasy. She has created characters that you are able to relate to and want to know or feel as if you do know them.

Colleen Hoover by all means is a fabulous author with great talents and I look forward to all she has to publish for us and the YA community!

Thank you Colleen for this fabulous FREE download!!! :)

Summary :
A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. But Daniel soon realizes that fairytales don’t exist, and unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.
